Theater StückWerk e. V. (until 2016 K254) is an amateur theatre group based in Wiesbaden, Hesse, Germany, with members from Wiesbaden and Mainz.[1][2] The group was formed in 2003 and mainly stages comedies.[3]

History

The core of the group met in spring 2003 in the drama course Von der Stille zum Spiel at the Mainz Volkshochschule (adult education centre). After the course ended, the participants decided to put on a play together with the course leader, a Wiesbaden theatre educator and director. Most rehearsals took place in a building in the Kalle-Albert industrial park in Wiesbaden-Biebrich, whose name, K254, the group adopted as its own. Its first premiere, Woody Allen's Gott, took place in April 2004 in Ober-Olm. In 2016 the group renamed itself Theater StückWerk e. V.[3] The 2013 production Mörder mit Gefühl marked the group's tenth anniversary.[2]

Repertoire

Besides comedies by authors such as Molière, Oscar Wilde and Neil Simon, the repertoire includes a crime comedy, the parody Der Ring des Nibelungen and, in 2024, a version of Dracula written for the group by its director.[2][4] In 2015 it staged a performance on the theme of flight and home, „Heimat“ oder „Jeder ist auf der Flucht“.[2] Its 2025 production, Eugène Labiche's comedy Das Sparschwein, premiered on 25 October 2025 at the Bürgerhaus Mainz-Finthen and was then performed at the community centres in Mainz-Lerchenberg and Mainz-Weisenau.[5] For February and March 2027 the group has announced Sehbücher, a piece built from six chapters of six successful German novels.[6]
