Theatergruppe „d'Lamerer“ e. V. is an amateur theatre association from the market town of Lam, district of Cham, Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany.[1] Since 2002 it has staged a rural comedy (Bauerntheater) every summer in the Theaterstadl Holzmühle between Lam and Engelshütt.[2][3]
History
Former members of an earlier theatre group began performing rural comedies in the Holzmühle and made their debut in July 2002 with the farce Der Gockel-Kriag. In May 2004 the group performed a historical play, Am Fuße des Ossers, for Lam's 750th anniversary, with support from residents. After several successful years, the association Theatergruppe d'Lamerer e. V. was founded on 1 April 2011.[1][2][4] By 2026 the summer theatre, which the group describes as an important part of the town's cultural life, had reached its 23rd season.[5]
Repertoire
The summer productions are Bavarian comedies and farces in three acts. Besides these the group organises readings and Christmas programmes, for example Christmas readings after Ludwig Thoma in the parish church of St. Ulrich, evenings devoted to the local poet Hugo Pokorny, and readings of local legends in the Lam library; a youth group (Theaterjugend) performed a Christmas play on the market square in 2024.[6]
