Theatergruppe Überacker e. V. is an amateur theatre group in Überacker, a village in the municipality of Maisach, district of Fürstenfeldbruck, Upper Bavaria, Germany.[1] Long a section of the local sports club, it became an independent association in 2004 and stages Bavarian comedies as well as an autumn fairy-tale play performed by children and young people.[2]
History
Village theatre in Überacker goes back to the early 1950s, when pupils of the village school, directed by their teacher, staged a first play at the Gasthaus Widmann and children performed puppet shows in the schoolhouse. Soon afterwards the Theatergruppe Überacker was formed as a section of the sports club SV Rot-Weiss Überacker, founded in 1963. Its co-founder, the village teacher Horst Podrouschek, led the theatre group and directed the adult productions, with few exceptions, until 2012; after his death Heidi Zacherl, a player from the beginning, took over as director.[2]
When the Gasthaus Widmann became too small for the growing audience, the group moved, after a short break, to the stage of the Gasthaus Hainzinger in Rottbach, where it initially staged a one-act play with newcomers and a three-act play with experienced players each season. In the 1980s it returned to Überacker, to the stage of the newly built sports hall. In 2004 the group split from the sports club and formed the registered association Theatergruppe Überacker e. V., whose statute dates from 12 January 2004. From 2010 a fairy-tale play for the autumn, performed by children and young people, became established. No regular seasons could be held from 2020 to 2022 because of the COVID-19 pandemic; the group returned in autumn 2022 with a weekend of sketches.[2]
Repertoire
The group stages a Bavarian comedy for the adult ensemble and, since 2010, a fairy-tale play for children in autumn.[2] Its 2026 production is Hochwürden auf der Flucht, a Bavarian crime comedy in three acts by Walter G. Pfaus.[3]
