Theatergruppe Emmering e. V. is an amateur theatre association in Emmering, district of Fürstenfeldbruck, Upper Bavaria, Germany, performing Bavarian folk comedies.[1] Founded officially in 1966, it continues local theatre documented since 1948 and has a children's and youth group, the Springinkerl.[1]
History
Theatre was performed in Emmering at the Alter Wirt inn from at least 1948, at first by members of the gymnastics club TV Emmering and later by the Catholic youth. The theatre group was officially founded on 21 September 1966 at the Gasthaus Grätz in Emmering by nine founding members, each paying a deposit of 10 Deutsche Mark. In 1969 it entered the Bayerischer Rundfunk competition Laien spielen um die Wette, performing Der alte Fuchs in April 1970. In 1977 the group became a registered association and elected its first official board. In 1978 members were among the amateur players invited by the Bavarian Minister-President to the Antiquarium, where Franz Schaurer's Ballett am Jocklhof was performed in the author's presence.[1]
Repertoire
The adult group performs Bavarian comedies and farces each autumn, with performances in October and November; the youth group Springinkerl stages fairy-tale plays for children.[1]
