Theatergruppe Hartmannshof e. V. is an amateur theatre association in Hartmannshof, a district of Pommelsbrunn, Nürnberger Land district, Middle Franconia, Bavaria, Germany.[1] Revived in 1974 and registered in 1976, it has adult, youth and children's groups and, since 2023, a marionette theatre.[2]
History
Theatre has a long tradition in Hartmannshof, with interruptions. After a period without performances, Hans-Peter Hubmann and Fritz Herbst initiated a new start in 1974; the first sets were built in 1975, and on 22 March 1976 the theatre group was founded as a registered association. It joined the Verband Bayerischer Amateurtheater e. V. on 1 April 1977. On 29 June 1979 it held its first midsummer celebration, the Kuhangerfest, which became a fixture of village life. A children's and youth group was formed in 1980 and gave its first premiere that November; a further children's group for 6- to 10-year-olds followed in 1984. In 1985 the group devised the anti-drug play Wohin, shown in youth centres in Nuremberg and Sulzbach, and hosted the district day of the association for the first time, with a youth theatre meeting; in 1986 it performed Wohin and Irre at the second Austrian youth theatre meeting in Zwettl. It hosted the 45th district day of Northern Bavaria in 1999, its 25th-anniversary year. In 2001 it moved into new rehearsal rooms in the fire station, and in 2022 into a new rehearsal room in the Sängerhalle. After a pandemic break from 2020 to 2022, the marionette theatre Flotte Motte of the Scharf family became part of the group in 2023.[2]
Repertoire
The adult group performs Bavarian and Franconian comedies and farces, alongside plays such as Ein Käfig voller Narren and Der nackte Wahnsinn; the youth and children's groups have staged fairy-tale plays, adaptations of children's books and, in 2001, Die Welle.[3]
