The Theatergruppe Sarching is an amateur theatre group in Sarching, a village in the municipality of Barbing, Regensburg district, Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany.[1] Since 1980 it has staged a Bavarian comedy or farce almost every year, and it also has a children's theatre group.[1]
History
The group's list of productions begins with Sepp Faltermaier's Die Schwindelbraut in 1958 and continues annually from 1980. In 1989 the stage moved from the Gesersaal to the old school, which was converted into the Haus der Vereine (clubs' house) in 1998. The group's chronicle also records the death in 2002 of Richard Heller, who had played in productions such as Eiserne Jungfrauen (1984).[1][2]
Repertoire
The repertoire consists of rural comedies and farces in three acts, many of them published by Bavarian amateur theatre publishers, by authors such as Franz Rieder, Regina Rösch, Ulla Kling, Peter Landstorfer and Ralph Wallner.[1]
