Theatergruppe Treis e.V. is an amateur theatre group in the village of Treis, part of the municipality of Treis-Karden on the Moselle in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.[1] It stages a comedy each autumn, performed in the local dialect, Treiser Platt.[2][3]
History
The group's own archive begins with an entry for 2 June 1983 for the "Firmgruppe / Jugendgruppe Treis", a confirmation and youth group, and lists a production for every year from 1984 to 2006.[4][5] In 2013 the group marked its 30th year.[6][7] By 2019 the group had closed its website, citing the General Data Protection Regulation.[8] The 2017 production Minne ist kein Zuckerschlecken is listed by the regional amateur theatre association.[9]
Repertoire
The group performs comedies, farces and crime comedies, usually one production a year with six or seven performances over two weekends in November; in 2014 the performances took place in October.[10][11][12] The plays are performed in Treiser Platt, and press reviews have pointed to their local colour; the 2011 crime comedy, for example, was set in an old-fashioned police station in Treis.[3][13]
