D'Oberbeurer Bühne (Theaterverein D'Oberbeurer Bühne e. V.) is an amateur theatre group in Oberbeuren, a district of Kaufbeuren in the Swabia region of Bavaria, Germany. Village theatre in Oberbeuren goes back at least to 1926, and the group has been an independent association since 1991. It performs a comedy every October and November in the parish hall of St. Dionysius.[1][2]
History
The oldest programme of a theatre performance in Oberbeuren known to the group dates from 1926. In 1983 Peter Lehmann took over the direction of the theatre group, which for years performed at the inn Grüner Baum. On 2 March 1991 the group became an independent association under the name D'Oberbeurer Bühne. After the Grüner Baum closed there was a period without full productions, during which the group kept performing at Christmas parties, carnival balls and the village festival. Since 1996 it has played in the parish hall of St. Dionysius.[1]
In 2026 the club had about 120 members and was led by Alois and Ulla Foldenauer. In April 2026 Monika Schmid stepped down after 19 years as the group's director.[1][3]
Repertoire
The group performs Bavarian comedies and farces.[4]
