According to the local history book, theatre was already played in Obermichelbach at the beginning of the 20th century by the society Einigkeit; after 1945 the volunteer fire brigade held theatre evenings, from which the theatre club developed. It was founded in 1985 by a small group and gave its first production, Bleib cool Mama!, in 1986 on the stage of the Lohbauersaal (now Gasthaus am Michelbach). Venue
Since its opening in November 1997 the club's home has been the Bürgerhalle, part of Obermichelbach's town hall at Vacher Straße 25, which has a stage with dressing rooms, a large and a small hall, a control room and a clubroom; the stage has had LED lighting since 2018.[8]
Organisation
The club takes part in village events such as Kirchweih, the Bürgerfest and the Advent market, and its youth section organises a children's afternoon. It is also a member of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Mundart-Theater Franken e. V.[1][3]
