Theaterverein Pietenfeld is an amateur theatre group in Pietenfeld, a village in the municipality of Adelschlag, district of Eichstätt, Upper Bavaria, Germany. It was founded in 1987 to keep up the village's tradition of an annual Christmas play, and had about 105 members.

History

Before the club existed, a different local society took turns each year to organise Pietenfeld's Christmas play; because the extra work was often underestimated, the custom was in danger of dying out. Several players and supporters therefore founded the Theaterverein Pietenfeld on 20 December 1987 to cultivate amateur theatre in its various forms. In recent years about 26 members have taken part in each production.

Repertoire

The club stages one play a year, mostly Bavarian dialect comedies, performed between Christmas and New Year. It also had a youth theatre group.
