The Wielenbacher Theaterer e. V. is an amateur theatre association in Wielenbach, district of Weilheim-Schongau, Upper Bavaria, Germany. It grew out of the theatre group of the local rural youth organisation (Landjugend), which has staged plays since 1993, and was founded as an association on 11 March 1997. It performs a Bavarian comedy each year.[1][2]
History
Regular theatre performances were part of the activities of the Landjugend Wielenbach. When its members outgrew the youth organisation, they decided to continue the tradition in an association of their own; the founding meeting of the Wielenbacher Theaterer took place on 11 March 1997 at the Gasthaus zum Schöpf in Wielenbach.[1] In July 2026 the association had 109 active and passive members.[1] For its 30th anniversary it plans an additional children's play in autumn 2027.[3]
Repertoire
The group mainly plays Bavarian comedies, but has also staged classics such as Goldoni's Der Diener zweier Herren, Shakespeare's Der Widerspenstigen Zähmung and Kleist's Der zerbroch'ne Krug.[2] The Kreisbote described the 2026 production, Ulla Kling's angler comedy, as "humorous, entertaining, played with heart and absolutely worth seeing".[4]
