The Wolfsbucher Bauerntheater „D'Lamp'nfieberer“ e. V. is an amateur theatre association in Wolfsbuch, a village in the town of Beilngries, district of Eichstätt, Upper Bavaria, Germany. Formed in 1991, it revived the village's theatre tradition and stages a Bavarian rural comedy (Bauerntheater) every spring.[1]
History
After the Second World War theatre enthusiasts in Wolfsbuch performed one-act plays; the first full-length play, Die Junggesellensteuer, was given in December 1950, and the last, Das heiratsnarrische Volk, in 1957, after which the group broke up. For the 40th anniversary of the Wolfsbucher Blaskapelle on 20 October 1991 a newly formed group of amateur players took the stage with two one-act plays and chose the name D'Lamp'nfieberer ("the stage-fright sufferers"). The response led the group to stage a full three-act play the next year, and it has played every year since. In March 2007 the members decided to register the group as a charitable association, with the aim of promoting cultural life in Wolfsbuch.[1] No plays were staged from 2020 to 2022 during the COVID-19 pandemic.[1]
Repertoire
The group plays Bavarian comedies in three acts, with about six performances each March.[1][2]
