Theaterkiste Pforzen-Leinau e. V. is an amateur theatre group in Pforzen, district of Ostallgäu, Swabia, Bavaria, Germany. Founded in 1971, it stages comedies and rural farces, largely in Swabian dialect, as well as productions with its children's and youth group.

History
The club was founded on 26 December 1971 by a group of young men meeting for their traditional morning pint at the Café Biglmair; 27 people joined at the first public meeting a week later in the old school. The first plays, Das Dienstjubiläum and So san d'Leut, followed in 1972. In autumn 1973 the club adopted the name "Theaterkiste", and a year later it joined the Bund Deutscher Amateurtheater. In 1978 its founder, player, director and first chairman Ulrich Haug died at the age of 23 in a hang-gliding accident on the Tegelberg.

In 1996 the group set its attendance record with 3,103 spectators for Geld oder Liebe, a Swabian version of the Low German comedy Der Mattjes. In 1997 it gave the first German performance of Nichts als Kuddelmuddel and staged scenes from local history, written by its members, with over 80 performers for the 1100th anniversary of Pforzen. For its 30th anniversary the club consecrated its own banner on 28 July 2002, with the Theaterverein Wildpoldsried as sponsoring club. In 2006, 28 children and young people aged 5 to 15 staged the club's first children's and youth production.

No season took place in 2009 because of the rebuilding of the primary school; since 2011 the group has performed in the school's new assembly hall. It celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2011 with a revival of Geld oder Liebe, the first time it had staged a play twice. The 50th anniversary was marked in 2023 with Der doppelte Moritz. The club has over 200 members.

Repertoire
The programme ranges from rural farces (Bauernschwank) and comedies to more serious plays such as Der Geisterbräu or Drei Wünsche hast du frei. The group usually stages one main production a year in winter, with occasional children's and youth productions. A regional newspaper review of the 2023 production noted the clearly understandable Swabian dialect and the sold-out premiere.
