d'Gmoagaukler z'Inning e. V. is an amateur theatre club in Inning am Ammersee in the district of Starnberg, Upper Bavaria, Germany. Founded in 1980 out of a drama group of the local cultural society, it stages Bavarian comedies and farces in Inning's Haus der Vereine.[1]

History

The idea of reviving lay theatre in Inning came from Ingeburg Groß and Uschi Müller, then chair of the local Kulturkreis (cultural society). In May 1979 the Kulturkreis advertised in the municipal newsletter for people interested in acting under the direction of Groß, a trained actress; only four women answered at first. The group's first public appearance was at a variety evening of the Kulturkreis on 7 July 1979, and in November 1979 Groß was confirmed as leader of the drama section. Its first play, Der Brauttausch, was performed in 1980 at the Seefelder Hof inn in Buch. A year after its formation the group separated from the Kulturkreis and on 21 November 1980 twenty people founded the theatre club d'Gmoagaukler z'Inning, with Hans Knopp as first chairman (for 16 years) and Groß as deputy.[1]

Ingeburg Groß directed fourteen main productions until 1993; from 1994 Ingo Mäser took over as director, also appearing as an actor. The club played on the small stage of the Seefelder Hof from 1980 to 1985, in 1986 in the Freymannstadl together with the Inning Landjugend, and since the completion of the Haus der Vereine on Schornstraße in 1987 it has performed there.[1] The regional press has described it as one of two theatre clubs in Inning, alongside De Ammersee-Engel Inning.[2]

Repertoire

The club performs Bavarian farces and comedies, frequently by Ralph Wallner, with occasional other genres such as a free adaptation of Carlo Goldoni's Mirandolina and a drama by Wallner in 2017. Its 2026 production, Peter Landstorfer's "Old Munich gangster comedy" A Kufern, was sold out for all seven performances.[3] Productions documented on the club's website are:[4]
